Description - Audioquest Black Hole Ground Wire
Audioquest Black Hole - ground wire for turntable or subwoofer made of 6% silver-plated LGC copper
You can assign the BLACK HOLE ground wire to almost any AudioQuest cable (*) with RCA connectors to create a specific turntable cable with very low distortion. The ground wire minimizes distortion, protects against RFI interference and significantly improves the overall dispersion of high-frequency noise of your audio/video system. The result will be a sound with a "blacker background" and richer tone rendering. Proper grounding brings, more vivid sound, more impressive detail, dynamics and more natural color.
Unlike other grounding wires, which often act more like RF antennas, the AudioQuest BLACK HOLE prevents hum while effectively dissipating RF noise. It uses premium-grade conductors — AudioQuest’s 6% silver on polished long-grain copper (LGC). The conductors are directional and cold-welded to #10 silver-plated direct-connect forks. The conductors have a solid core, eliminating strand-to-strand interactions, a major source of dynamic distortion in cables. An RF carbon trap containing conductive PVC is applied to perfectly dissipate RF noise.
AudioQuest BLACK HOLE grounding wires can also be used in conjunction with subwoofers, ground boxes, wall outlet grounding, and similar devices to effectively address ubiquitous RF noise. It is a sad fact that all wires can be considered antennas that pick up high-frequency noise, which significantly reduces the performance of audio/video systems. That is why it is very important to prevent interference and hum from entering the signal. AudioQuest ground wires successfully solve the problem and effectively ground turntables, ground boxes and more.
* BLACK HOLE ground wires are not suitable for connection with Black Beauty, Pegasus, ThunderBird, FireBird and Dragon cables, which use AudioQuest's ZERO-Tech technology. The listed cables are not compatible with moving coil MC cartridges.
