All audiophiles look for the same qualities: authenticity of the original recording, a sense of involvement, visceral immersion in the audio video experience. They also know that everything in the signal path is different, and what we see, hear and experience is, in a very direct way, the AC power itself.

In fact, AC power is directly in the signal path. As the amplifiers transfer power to the speakers, they draw storage capacitors in exactly the same amount. The capacitors try to maintain a full charge by drawing power from the rectifiers, which convert AC voltage to DC, from the transformer, which draws power through the wall. In the end, all you see, hear and experience is AC current, which must be identical to, say, the output of an amplifier, and that AC current is going through the power cable! Therefore they are as important as any cable in the system because they carry the same signal. The new technology used in the highly specialized manufacturing process of this high performance power cable combines Furutech's world renowned Alpha-OFC conductors with Furutech's extremely efficient signal transmission amplifier, Nano Liquid. The Nano Liquid molecules are so small (8 nanometers in diameter (8/10,000,000 mm)), they cover the surface of the Alpha-OFC and "fill in" any concave-convex sections left on the conductor surface during the manufacturing process, increasing the electrical conduction area and impedance degradation. The very precise mixture of gold and silver super-microparticles and the amount of dispersed squalene oil used on the conductor has a great effect on sound reproduction, and Furutech engineers decided on their exact ratio of gold and silver particles after careful testing of countless test samples. Furutech Pure Transmission FI-50 series Piezo Ceramic connector bodies and housings feature several breakthrough design techniques. The multi-layered non-magnetic stainless steel and carbon fiber housing incorporates a special damping and insulating acetal copolymer. Furutech decided on stainless steel and carbon fiber for the outer casing after extensive listening sessions with Japanese industry figures and audiophiles.

The body of the plugs combines two "active" materials: nano-sized ceramic particles and powdered carbon. (Only nano-sized ceramic particles effectively bond with carbon powder.)
